Bridge

Bridge the gap between fun and mental exercise.

Bridge is?

THE definitive card game that replaces the element of chance with elements of guile, shrewdness, memory and understanding.

Why Bridge?

Besides being an addictive pastime, bridge brings together people with differing skill levels and much of the enjoyment is derived from this sharing of knowledge and experience. Although group members are competitive, focus is on fun without airs and graces.

Do I need to be an experienced player?

The majority of the members had either never played bridge before or had not done so since they were young. Many had played partner whist which provides the basis of bridge in its many formats.

How does the group operate?

There is no set agenda and no set partnerships. Cards are drawn on the day to determine the pairs and the match participants.

Meets where? The Old Forge, Kirkby Stephen.
Meets when? Fortnightly on Monday afternoons, 15:00 to 17:00.

We aren't charged for the hire of the room but members are encouraged to buy refreshments as a courtesy acknowledging the generosity of the owners.

Do I need to bring anything to meetings? No, just bring yourself and a sense of humour.
