Sketching for Beginners

Drawing people together.

What is sketching?

Sketching is a way of recording of what you see, or ideas for pictures, using pencils or pens or charcoal on paper. A sketch is often a quick drawing with simple lines and marks, and you may make several sketches of one thing before you make a finished drawing.

What happens at each session?

We meet and sketch from observation, trying out basic subjects, learning techniques and new materials, comparing views - but most importantly just having a go. So far we have tried our hand at still life, landscape, animals, trees - and everyone's approach is different, and we all learn from each other. You don’t need any previous experience - you will still enjoy sketching, and will get better too. It’s about the process as much as their result.

Sketching for relaxation and enjoyment.

Sketching is both full of interest and very relaxing - and part of the pleasure is sketching alongside other people.
