Longer walks

Take a step in the right direction.

Want to enjoy the countryside more?

Then why not try one of our longer walks?

Ah! but what constitutes a longer walk?

The simplest way to explain is to say that such walks are typically long enough for you to need to bring a lunch with you.

Is it strenuous?

Some walks may be considered fairly strenuous but that challenge is part of the pleasure they offer.

What type of walks are involved?

Walks usually involve ascents and descents in areas such as the Howgill Fells, the Pennines and the Lake District; but not its highest peaks.  For example past walks have included High Street in the Lakes and Wath to Randygill Top and Green Bell in the Howgills.

Scientist have established that walking is good for mind and body.

Walking with others can motivate you more to get out and about and then of course there are the wonderful views.

Enjoy a good day out in convivial company.
